This recipe was so fun to make because it got me in the mood that fall is finally here even though we haven't been feeling that many fall temperatures. This recipe is really easy to make because the mixing ingredients and cutting the apples is pretty simple to do, it just may take some extra time if you don't have an apple peeler and have to peel them by hand. Overall this dish turned out to be great and everyone who tried it, liked it. This recipe has really helped me in reaching my goal in the project because I have never made any type of cobbler before and for this being my first one, it turned out good. Below I have recorded the questions and answers that I asked the people who have tried my apple cobbler. Questions: 1. Rank the dessert on a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being the highest and 1 being the lowest) 2. What did you like about the dessert? 3. What would you change about the dessert? My mother: 1. 5 2. The apples were crunchy and not soggy 3. The bottom layer got a little soggy My father: 1. 5 2. The apples were not soggy and "made the dish come together 3. The bottom layer got a little soggy. "Maybe use less sugar for the topping" My grandmother 1. 4 2. "You can tell there are real apples by the crunch" 3. Nothing

This recipe was really fun to make because I was able to get a little help from my aunt who is here to visit for a little while. I have never made anything like this before because I personally don't like the pumpkin flavor of most things nor the taste of pecans, but this was an exception. This recipe has really helped me to get to my goal because the main purpose was to make and try new and different things which was definitely achieved in this recipe. The recipe has also gotten the best feedback I have gotten between the three desserts I have made. Feedback: Questions 1. Rate the dessert 1 out of 5? 2. What did you like best about the dessert? 3. What would you change for the next time? My father: 1. 4 2. The consistency of the cake 3. Only make the dessert during colder seasons My aunt: 1. 5 2. The way everything went together so easily (consistency) 3. Nothing My aunt: 1. 5 2. The sweetness of the dessert 3. Nothing This week for genius hour I decided to make homemade churros as my dessert. This recipe was very interesting and fairly easy to make as a whole. This recipe took a lot of concentration and alertness when it can to the frying of the churros because they brown very fast and if you aren't careful you will burn them. I feel like this project was a success because I got mostly good feedback and I also didn't mess any part of the recipe up. For this being week two of genius hour it helps get closer to my goal of achieving to make 11 desserts from scratch successfully. Below I am going to give the three people and their responses to the churros. Questions: 1. Rate the food on a scale from 1 to 5 2. What did you like about the churros? 3. What would you change for the next time? My mother: -4 -The churros are light and fluffy -The dough could be sweeter My stepfather: -"Perfection on a stick"(5) -The sweet cinnamon and sugar taste -They are not that filling as a dessert Aria Tronson: -4 -The sweet cinnamon taste -Be served warm always so they are not soft ![]() This weeks baking recipe was milk chocolate brownies made from scratch. This was a very fun recipe to make because you have to do a lot of fast work especially when it came to boiling the butter, milk, and sugar mixture, then throwing in the chocolate chips. It did take longer to make these brownies then projected prep time, but it gave me more time to make sure I had all the ingredients that I need to use. I was able to get feedback on my brownies from 4 people each having different insights on what they thought of the brownies. I feel that this trial was good to the entire overview of the project because I tried a new recipe which is not something I do that often, but I succeeded at it. At the bottom of the blog I will have pictures that I took while making these brownies. Feedback questions: 1. Rating the brownies 1-5? 2. What did you like most about the brownies? 3. What could be done better for the future? My mother: - Given a 3 - The brownies had a good consistency - They didn't have much flavor regarding the chocolate My sister: - Given a 4 - The brownies were chocolaty, soft, and gooey - Maybe a little too much chocolate (overpowering) My father: - Given a 4 - The brownies were chocolaty and soft - The brownies should be thinner Aria Tronsen: - Given a 5 - Everything about it was good - None |
